Atiku Meets PDP Lawmakers, Candidates Days To Election

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has met with members of the party in the National Assembly and candidates ahead of Saturday’s election.

Naija News reports that the former Vice President met with lawmakers and candidates on Sunday night at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

The meeting was expected to provide the party’s flag bearer the opportunity to review the campaigns and preparation for the Saturday exercise.

Atiku is expected to follow up Sunday’s sessions with meetings with other key party stakeholders in the remaining days before the presidential poll.

2023 Presidency: Atiku Lists Tinubu’s Past Actions Against Buhari

Meanwhile, Atiku has listed the past actions of his All Progressives Congress (APC) counterpart, Bola Tinubu, against President Muhammadu Buhari.

Atiku, in a statement on Sunday by his Special Assistant on Public Communications, Phrank Shaibu, said he was not surprised that Tinubu disagreed with Buhari on the naira redesign policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

The former Vice President stated that the actions of Tinubu in the past and even now had shown that he had no regard for President Buhari or his office.

Atiku said in 2018, Buhari and some Northern governors personally appealed to Tinubu to let Governor Akinwunmi Ambode contest a second term, but he ignored their entreaties, thereby publicly embarrassing the president.

He further alleged that Tinubu orchestrated the removal of the former Edo State Governor, John Oyegun, and ensured that one of his loyalists, Adams Oshiomhole, emerged as the national chairman of APC.

Atiku said with the help of Oshiomhole, Tinubu undermined several governors in their states and went on to suspend them including Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State.
