Adamu Garba Reacts As IMF Asks CBN To Extend Old Notes Deadline

Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adamu Garba, has reacted to the decision of President Muhammadu Buhari over the usage of old 200 Naira notes.

Naija News earlier reported that Buhari during a nationwide broadcast on Thursday approved the continuous usage of the old 200 naira notes as legal tender until the 10th of April.

The president stated that the old 200 naira notes will be distributed back into circulation while the old N500 and N1000 notes cease to be legal tender and are all redeemable at the Central Bank of Nigeria.

In a post via Twitter, Adamu Garba, who had earlier claimed the Naira redesign policy was targeted at the victory of APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, said there is absolutely no need to confront the policy again.

According to him, the extension of the 200 Naira notes is within the reach of a common man’s denominations.

He added it was time Nigerians accept the reality, follow and respect the verdict of the president and carry on with their economic activities.

He said: “There’s absolutely no need whatsoever to confront this naira policy again. The 200 naira note extension is within the reach of a common man’s denomination & that’s enough.

“When you listened to the President’s pain points, any reasonable Nigerian should automatically support him.

“The President graciously extended the old 200 naira notes as legal tender to continue to circulate with the new note for the next 60 days

“It is now time to accept the reality, follow and obey the law, respect the verdict of the President and carry on with our economic activities”
