You Will Fail Without Us - Wike Threatens PDP's Atiku Days To Presidential Election

The camp of the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike in Cross Rivers State has experienced crack, as some of its members attended the presidential rally of Atiku Abubakar in the state.

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River, Sandy Onor on Monday ignored the rally, however, the state Chairman, Venatius Ikem, Cross River South senatorial candidate, Ntufam Ekpo Okon, and others attended the event.

A former governor of the state, Donald Duke, former Deputy Governor of the state, Efiok Cobham and others did not attend the event.

Despite the state chairman of the party attending the event, the party secretariat, located on Mary Slessor Avenue does not have Atiku’s posters.

A House of Representatives member for Calabar Municipality/Odukpani Constituency, Ntufam Eta Mbora who is a member of Wike’s camp attended the rally held at the U.J. Esuene Stadium.

Atiku while speaking at the event called on the people of Cross Rivers to vote for PDP both in the state and presidency.

Speaking at the rally he said, “One thing you must understand, is the moment Calabar Port is expanded, it will attract factories and businesses and will be of benefit to the people of Cross River.

“I promise you, if you vote for PDP for the President and governorship, we will work together with your governor and legislators.”

A former Governor, Liyel Imoke assured the presidential candidate of the state’s PDP’s vote.

He said, “Cross River is PDP, we know you are our friends. In spite of all the seeming challenges, we remain in PDP. I assure you that on February 25, our people who are here in their numbers will vote for PDP.”

The senator representing Cross River South Senatorial, Gershom Bassey also said: “We have never lost a governorship election in Cross River State and 2023 will not be different. We are solidly behind you and we will support you and your government when you come into power, come May 29, 2023.”
