See How Kogi People Received Atiku As He Holds First Rally After Returning To Nigeria

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar on Saturday took his campaign to Kogi State ahead of the 2023 elections.

The PDP candidate was in Kogi to solicit the votes of the people ahead of the February 25 presidential elections as he hopes to take over from President Muhammadu Buhari on May 29, 2023.

Naija News reports Atiku, his running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa, the PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu and several other stalwarts of the party stormed Lokoja, the state capital to convince the electorate to vote for the party.

The rally held at the Kogi Confluence Stadium is the first campaign Atiku will hold since he returned to Nigeria after about two weeks outside the country.

The former Vice President returned to Nigeria on Friday, 13th January.

Below are some pictures from the Kogi rally which shows the people of the state came out in their numbers to receive Atiku and his team.

Meanwhile, the PDP candidate during the rally promised to resuscitate the Ajaokuta Steel Company if elected into power.

He also assured that the Inland Port in the State will be developed to help the inland water transportation system in the North and Nigeria as a whole.

In his words, “I am very happy with the people of Kogi state for this show of support, show of love, most of the challenges have been enumerated by previous speakers, one of them is the issue of Ajaokuta. I want to confirm here that if you give us your support and elect a PDP government, the nightmare of Ajaokuta will be a thing of the past. I assure you this and it is a promise I have made on behalf of PDP.

“I also want to promise you that the issue of your inland port is not only a Kogi issue, but issue of Northern Nigeria, because through the development of the port in Kogi, we also will have access to the maritime transportation in this country, so it is not a Kogi matter, it is our matter for the entire north of the country. I promise you we will implement that program.”
