2023 Presidency: Reno Omokri Reacts As Arthur Eze Ditch Peter Obi

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has reacted to the removal of the company allegedly owned by the flagbearer of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, by the United Kingdom Government.

Naija News earlier reported that the UK authorities had struck off a company allegedly belonging to the former Governor of Anambra State for failing to submit its annual accounts.

The company known as Next International (UK) Limited was removed from the record in September 2021 following a first and second notice of a “compulsory” strike off of the entity.

Premium Times noted that the company largely owned by the former governor of Anambra State failed to submit its annual accounts for the year 2020 which saw the company struck off and dissolved in 2021.

According to UK Liquidators, a financial consulting firm, if Companies House receives no reply to its letters, it will then publish a first ‘strike off notice’ in the Gazette, which is the official journal of public record.

The first official notice to strike off Next International was issued on 22nd June 2021, then a second notice was given on 31st August 2021. A final gazette to dissolve the company was issued on 7th September 2021.

Before its final dissolution, records show that for four consecutive years (2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020) the UK Companies House had to always issue a “first gazette notice for compulsory strike-off” before Next International filed its annual account.

Reacting to the development in a tweet via his verified Twitter handle on Wednesday, Omokri mocked the former governor over the delisting of his company in the UK.

The chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) asserted that the LP flagbearer who cannot manage his company wants to lead the country.

He wrote: “Wow! So Peter Oni could not manage his company, Next International (UK) Limited, which had to be struck off the roll by the UK, after failing to meet its responsibilities despite repeated warnings. And this is Peter who wants to lead Nigeria? Charity begins at Next!”
