Turnout As Peter Obi Storms Osun For Presidential Rally (Video/Photos)

The Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has shared moments from his campaign rally at Osun State on Saturday, January 7, 2023.

Obi was in Oshogbo with his running mate, Datti Ahmed-Baba, his wife, and some chieftains of the party for his presidential campaign.

Naija News reports that photos and videos that emerged online show that Peter Obi garnered a huge crowd at his rally in Oshogbo.

The crowd was seen excitedly chanting Obi’s name and he could barely address them amidst their loud noise.

The former Anambra State Governor, in a post via Twitter, said the LP supporters in Osun State showed their commitment and made the rally lively and fun.

He tweeted: “Thanks to the good people of Osun State for the turnout, warmth and support. Osun Obidient Family showed their commitment, and this made the Osogbo Rally lively and fun. Salute. -PO”

Police Foil Attempt To Kidnap Plateau Speaker

Meanwhile, an attempt by suspected kidnappers to abduct the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Yakubu Sanda, on Friday night was foiled by the Plateau State Police Command.

Naija News gathered that the gunmen trailed the Speaker in an ash-colored Honda CR-V to his residence at the Federal Low-cost in Jos but the attempt to abduct the three occupants of the vehicle was aborted by the Police officers on guard duty.

Also, the timely response of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Rantya Division, SP Ayuba Iliya and his men who joined forces with the men on guard duty to repel the intruders.

Reacting to the development, the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Alfred Alabo, the State, said the Command is making a concerted effort to track down the fleeing suspects and get them arrested.

Alabo added that the brilliant strategy designed by the Commissioner of Police, Bartholomew Onyeka, has yielded enormous and laudable operational successes in the state.
