Former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BOT), Senator Walid Jibrin has assured that all grievances within the party will be resolved before the 2023 general elections.

He added that the internal crisis which has pitched some aggrieved Governors popularly known as the G5 against the PDP’s presidential ambition will also be resolved.

This is as he expressed confidence that the Governors will work for no other presidential candidate but the PDP candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Naija News reports he made the submission on Wednesday during a chat with newsmen in Marmara, Nasarawa state.

He assured that despite the current disagreements, the G5 Governors will not leave the party and will work for Atiku and the PDP.

Jibrin said: “The G5 governors are only testing Nigerians, very soon the governors would reconcile fully because they are prepared to give hope to Nigerians who have been subjected to hardship since the advent of the APC administration.

“Before my resignation, possible mechanisms have been deployed and are still being deployed to reconcile the two parties involved. The matter is very easy and simple to be kept behind us.”

Why I Resigned As BOT Chairman

Further speaking, Jibril explained that his resignation has nothing to do with the G5 Governors, stressing that the reconciliation moves commenced before he left office and would be concluded before the elections.

“The G-5 governors are going nowhere and they are with us. We are seeing them and what they are doing. It will also interest you to know that they are only testing Nigerians.

“We are going to reconcile and we are going to solve our problems amicably very soon,” he said.

Naija News recalls the G5 Governors (Nyesom Wike – Rivers State, Seyi Makinde – Oyo State, Samuel Ortom – Benue State, Okezie Ikpeazu – Abia State, and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi – Enugu State) have insisted that except Iyorchia Ayu resigns as the PDP National Chairman, they won’t support the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
