Keyamo Reacts As Atiku’s Aide Insists Tinubu Met G-5 Governors

The Spokesman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council, Festus Keyamo, has reacted to claims by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that former Governor of Lagos, Bola Tinubu, met with G-5 governors.

This publication earlier reported that news made the rounds last week claiming that Tinubu met with Governors Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Samuel Ortom (Benue), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu) and Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia) at his London residence.

But the APC presidential candidate had denied reports of the meeting, stating that he is in Saudi Arabia for Hajj.

In a statement to Naija News on Sunday, Special Assistant, Public Communication to Atiku Abubakar, Phrank Shaibu accused Tinubu of telling lies about his meeting with the G-5 governors.

He claimed that APC candidates including Senator Teslim Folarin have kicked against any deal with the PDP governors that will jeopardize his ambition to govern Oyo State.

Reacting via a tweet, the Minister of State for Labour and employment, Keyamo reiterated that the APC candidate, Bola Tinubu, has disassociated himself from meeting with the PDP’s five aggrieved governors.

According to him, the PDP spokespersons are struggling to clout chase with claims that Atiku secretly had a meeting with some APC governors.

Keyamo added that PDP can only add value to their campaign by associating with APC.

He wrote: “Our own @officialABAT DISASSOCIATED himself from any meeting with the PDP G5; But PDP spokespersons are struggling to gather clout by claiming Atiku is ‘secretly’ meeting with APC Governors! For them, only by ‘associating’ with APC Govs, that they can add value to their campaign”
