A former presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adamu Garba has reacted to the endorsement of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) Peter Obi by former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Naija News reports that Obasanjo in a New Year message titled “My Appeal to all Nigerians, particularly young Nigerians”, endorsed Obi to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

The former Nigerian leader made his position known in a letter he personally signed, which he described Peter Obi as “a needle with thread attached to it from North and South and he may not get lost”.

Reacting to the development, Garba via the micro-blogging platform, Twitter, relegated the former president’s endorsement of the LP flagbearer to that of former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal.

He also added that the former president was envious of the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.

He wrote: “At certain point in one’s life, once you refuse to retire when the ovation was loud, you’ll find yourself neck deep into confusion that’ll ultimately retire you into oblivion.

“A case of Babachir endorsing Peter Obi is same with Obasanjo. I wish them both a happy retirement.”

He added: ‘‘Envy is an immense disease. I respect & continue to respect General Olusegun Obasanjo. However, I advise him to outgrow his envy of Tinubu at this stage of his life.

“Obasanjo is desperately envious of the rise and shine of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his lost in this one is sure to come.”
