Jorginho’s Agent Gives Update On His Contract With Chelsea

Jorginho’s agent has stated that Chelsea had extended an offer to the player, but he also acknowledged that the star was considering a move back to Napoli.

After the current campaign, the 31-year-old Italian international, Jorginho, who was born in Brazil, will be a free agent.

Newcastle wants to keep him in the Premier League, and a variety of teams are interested in his services.

While Barcelona is also vying for the services of the Euro 2020 champion, Juventus wants to return him to Italy.

On the other hand, Chelsea want him to remain at Stamford Bridge, so they have put forward a contract extension for him to consider.

However, Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos has already raised the prospect of his client making a sentimental comeback to his previous team, Napoli.

“Jorginho is expiring on June 30, we have a renewal offer and we’ll give priority to Chelsea”, Santos told TMW.

“Naples represented our home in Italy, [Cristiano] Giuntoli really appreciates the player, for us, it’s a special place.

“If there was a new interest we’d be happy, however, at the moment Napoli has not had any contact with us.”

Jorginho began his professional career in Italy with Hellas Verona, and then switched to Napoli in January 2014.

Later, Chelsea paid £57.4 million for his services in 2018, and he has thrived in West London.

So far at Chelsea, he has won the Uefa Super Cup, the Fifa Club World Cup, the Champions League, and the Europa League.

Jorginho has scored 21 goals in 121 Premier League games and has become an important player for the Blues thanks to his ability to convert penalties.
