LP Reacts To Assassination Of Women Leader In Kaduna

The Labour Party (LP) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) has condemned the murder of the party’s women leader, Victoria Chintex, in Kaduna State.

Naija News reported that Victoria was confirmed dead on Tuesday after unknown gunmen suspected to be assassins stormed her residence in Kaura Local Government Area of the state.

The gunmen, on Monday night, November 28, 2022, invaded the victim’s home and shot her dead, while her husband sustained gunshot injuries.

In a statement on Wednesday night, the Chief Spokesperson of the party’s Campaign Council, Yunusa Tanko, described the murder of the leading female politician as painful and unfortunate.

The LP chieftain also expressed sadness over the gunshot wound inflicted on her husband by the gunmen, and the killing of the women leader.

Tanko said the party condemns the killing in its totality, especially in the light of the fact that the deceased was known for her active role in politics, noting that her murder may infer that it was politically motivated.

He said, “Her passing leaves her close family, as well as our Labour Party, in a terrible loss. She endures in our memories.

“We call on security agencies not to leave any stones unturned towards identifying the perpetrators of this dastardly act and bringing them to book to serve as deterrents to other like-minded criminals or their masterminds.”
