Buhari, Adamu, Others To Arrive In Jos For APC Presidential Campaign Flag Off

President Muhammadu Buhari is set to arrive in Jos, the Plateau State capital, for the official kick-off of the presidential campaign of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Naija News reports that the President, who is the Chairman of the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), would arrive in Jos by 9am for the campaign rally.

According to the Nation, President Buhari would then proceed to the Rawang Pam Township Stadium in Jos, the venue of the APC presidential campaign kick-off.

An advance team of presidential aides and security details was said to have been in Jos since Sunday to prepare the ground for the arrival of the Nigerian leader.

Ahead of the President’s arrival this morning, there was a heavy security presence around the stadium and also security agents were stationed in and around critical areas of the city.

A combined team of the military, police, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, and Federal Road Safety Corps, were seen securing major routes leading into the venue.

The General Officer Commanding, 3rd Division of Nigeria Army, Maj-Gen. Ibrahim Ali, was personally at the stadium to assess the security arrangements.

The Commissioner of Police, Plateau Command, Batholomew Onyeka was also at the venue to assess the security arrangements put in place ahead of the President’s arrival.

All routes from the Jos Airport, Government House, and around the stadium have been given a facelift by the state’s Ministry of Works.

Expected at the event are members of the National Working Committee (NWC) led by the party’s National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, Governors of the party, National Assembly leaders, members of the PCC, and stalwarts of the ruling party.

The APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, who had arrived in the state on Monday ahead of today’s launch of his campaign, held a closed-door meeting with Adamu and the President at the State House on Sunday night.

It was learned that Tinubu and Adamu briefed Buhari on the arrangements for today’s campaign launch and the presidential visit to Plateau.

It was gathered that the meeting allowed the three leaders to review the entire campaign calendar and perfect arrangements for today’s event.

Naija News learned that President Buhari reassured Tinubu and Adamu of his readiness to lead the nationwide campaign and ensure victory for the party next year.
