2023: Details Of Buhari's Meeting With Tinubu, Adamu Emerge

The details of the meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the National Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Adamu, have emerged.

Naija News reported that the Nigerian leader, on Sunday night, met with Tinubu and Adamu, hours after he returned to Abuja from London in the United Kingdom after embarking on a two-week medical check-up.

The Special Assistant to the President on Digital Communications, Bashir Ahmad, made this known in a tweet via his verified Twitter handle last night.

He wrote: “JUST IN: President Muhammadu Buhari is currently meeting with our presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and Chairman of our great party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, ahead of the formal presidential campaign flag-off later in the week.

Speaking to The Nation on Monday morning, Ahmad said the trio met to discuss the formal flag-off of the party’s presidential campaign, scheduled to take place on Tuesday in Jos, the Plateau State capital.

The presidential aide added that Adamu and Tinubu briefed the President on the preparations made for the official kick-off of the party’s presidential campaign.

“All I know about the meeting is that it was for the preparation towards the kick-off of the campaigns taking place in Plateau tomorrow,” Ahmad said.

Tinubu Unfit To Accuse Us Of Falsifying Documents – Labour Party Fires APC

The Labour Party (LP) has distanced itself from claims by the APC that it was responsible for the alleged forgery of the letterhead of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Labour Party asked the ruling party to look within its rank for those responsible for the forgery.

Naija News recalls that a document with the letterhead of the INEC surfaced on social media platforms on Friday, which claimed that the electoral agency is investigating a drug case in the United States involving Tinubu.

However, following the release of the document, INEC denied that it is investigating the APC presidential candidate.

In a statement on Sunday, the Director of Media and Publicity of the APC Campaign Council, Bayo Onanuga accused the Labour Party and the Peoples Democratic Party of sponsoring fake news against Tinubu.

Onanuga said the PDP and the LP have realised they have no sure path to victory in the February 2023 presidential election, hence their campaign of calumny, disinformation and misinformation.

But in an interview with Vanguard on Sunday, the Chief spokesperson of the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council, Dr. Yunusa Tanko noted that it was depressing that a party whose candidate has issues with records has the effrontery to accuse innocent people of doing the same.

He warned the APC Campaign to desist from dragging it into its sinking campaign with baseless allegations.
