PDP Denies Appointing Anthony Ehilebo As Head Of New Media

The Zamfara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has vowed that nothing will stop the party from taking over the state next year during the polls.

The Zamfara PDP said the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state should stop rejoicing that the PDP won’t contest in the coming election.

Naija News revealed that a Federal High Court sitting in Gusau, Zamafara State barred the PDP from fielding a governorship candidate in Zamfara for the 2023 elections.

The court according to an order on Tuesday, November 8 by Justice Aminu Bappa ruled that the PDP does not have a valid candidate for the Zamfara governorship election.

It nullified the May 25, 2022, primary election that produced Dauda Lawal as a candidate, making it the second time the court will nullify the 2023 PDP primary in Zamfara state.

However, despite the court’s ruling, a PDP chieftain in the state, Ibrahim Abubakar told Daily Post that the APC should cease rejoicing because of the court’s ruling.

Abubakar stated that the insecurity situation in the state is enough for the PDP to record a landslide victory. said the party against all odds must battle the ruling APC in the 2023 general elections at all levels.

He advanced that the party has appealed the High Court judgement because it has no constitutional power to stop the party from filling its preferred candidate.

He said “I want you to know now that we have gone to Appeal Court because the Federal High Court has no constitutional power to stop us from filling in our preferred governorship candidate.

“We all know what is happening in the state and we are not bothered because we are coming in to salvage the state. Are you happy with the insecurity situation you found yourself in Zamfara State? They know that they have failed to protect the lives and properties of the citizens, and that is why they are making every move to distract people’s attention.

“We are not boasting because we are not Allah but we are aware that politics is a game of numbers and we are also aware that the majority of the electorates are with us because APC has failed the people woefully in all the sectors.”
