Lookman And Osimhen On Target As Napoli Defeated Stubborn Atalanta

Super Eagles players, Ademola Lookman, and Victor Osimhen both had a goal and an assist as Napoli defeated Atalanta 2-1 in Serie A tie on Saturday at the Gewiss Stadium.

Super Eagles’ talisman, Osimhen, has already scored eight goals in nine Serie A contests, compared to Lookman’s six goals in the Italian domestic league.

Additionally, in Atalanta’s previous six league games, Lookman has scored five goals for La Dea.

Atalanta’s first opportunity came in the third minute, when Lookman crossed from the left for Rasmus Hojlund, forcing Alex Meret into a one-on-one save.

After Osimhen touched the ball inside the area in minute 19, Lookman subsequently gave Atalanta the lead from the penalty spot.

On the other hand, Osimhen swiftly atoned for his error by tying the score for Napoli in minute 23 thanks to a free header on a Piotr Zielinski floating cross from a short corner.

In the 35th minute, Osimhen outran Merih Demiral along the right side and drew the ball back for Eljif Elmas to score from 10 yards, dramatically turning the game around for Napoli.

After 13 games played so far this season, Napoli has a 35-point advantage over Atalanta, moving up eight points in the standings.
