2023: Peter Obi Reveals 'Deal' He Has With Wike, Ortom, Others

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi has confirmed the only deal he has with aggrieved Governors on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Speaking in Makurdi on Tuesday during a visit to the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, Obi revealed that they are all passionate about Nigeria and how to make the country better.

According to him, the zeal and passion to save Nigeria is the deal that is among them and which also accounts for the common ground they share.

“The only deal I have with them is that they are passionate about Nigeria,” Obi said.

Some of the aggrieved PDP Governors who have so far vowed not to work with the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar includes Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Okezie Ikepeazu of Abia state, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu and Samuel Ortom of Benue.

They insisted that in the spirit of fairness and justice, the party’s National Charman, Iyorchia Ayu must step down from office and be replaced by a southerner.

Speaking further, Obi accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of failing to provide leadership during the current crisis in the country.

He however praised the Benue State Governor for rising up to the challenge of insecurity and defending his people.

I Would Have Worked For You

On his part, Governor Ortom submitted that he would have worked for the presidential ambition of Obi if they were not in different political parties.

He however urged the former Anambra State Governor to seek like-minded presidential candidates that he can negotiate with and synergize with.
