Potter Confirms Chelsea Keeper Will Not Play Until After World Cup

Graham Potter has suggested that Spanish keeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga may emerge Chelsea’s first-choice goalkeeper going forward after his stellar performance against Aston Villa.

The Away trip which ended in a 2-1 victory for the blues marks the first time the Spaniard will feature for the British boss.

The Senegal international, Edouard Mendy, had initially displaced Kepa from his position. But after Mendy sustained an injury early in the 2022/2023 season, Kepa had his chance.

Potter, speaking to reporters, said, “It is better to let football decide,”

“Kepa has done really well. He has been supported fantastically by [Mendy] and [Marcus Bettinelli]. They provide good competition.

“Kepa’s form is really pleasing for everybody, especially him, so it’s nice we have competition in that area. That’s how you get players better.”
