I Have Video Evidence Of Peter Obi Claiming Responsibility For My Arrest In 2013 - El-Rufai

The Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has claimed to have video evidence of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, claiming responsibility for his arrest in Anambra State in 2013.

Naija News reports that El-Rufai had on Monday claimed that he was arrested and detained for 48 hours in Anambra State in 2013 on the orders of Obi who was the then Governor of the state.

Speaking at an interactive session organised by the Arewa Joint Committee, El-Rufai said he was arrested and detained when he visited Anambra on behalf of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to monitor the state governorship bye-election.

El-Rufai, however, said he now has all the security apparatus at his disposal to arrest the LP candidate now that he is in his state, but he is civilized and would not do such.

However, a supporter of the LP candidate, Adetutu Balogun, posted an old video which captured El-Rufai blaming authorities from Abuja for being responsible for his arrest in Anambra.

He said: “I left my hotel room to go and get my breakfast and I was blocked by three SSS officers with AK-47s, threatening me that they have a directive from Abuja to restrict me to my room”.

In a swift response, the Kaduna governor in a tweet via his Twitter account claimed that he has video evidence of Obi admitting to being responsible for the alleged unlawful arrest and detention.

The governor also alleged that Obi said he had no right to be in Anambra State since it was not his state.

He wrote, “Yes but your little god Peter Obi later revealed on national TV – we have the video clip – that he got the unlawful detention effected, and said I had no right to be in Anambra State since it was not Katsina State.

“The clown didn’t even know that I am from Kaduna State.”
