2023: Buhari, Person Planning To Succeed Him Are Tired – Falana

Human Rights lawyer, Femi Falana has said President Muhammadu Buhari and those planning to succeed him in 2023 are tired.

Speaking at the Labour Party (LP) National Retreat on Monday in Abuja, Falana said that Nigerians have lost faith in the current All Progressives Congress (APC) government.

He charged the youths not to cower to intimidation, saying power lies in their votes.

He said, “The man in Aso Rock said I am tired and I want to go home. Those who want to take power are also tired. Power lies in the street now.”

Falana claimed that the opposition party would want to engage in vote buying, noting that they have weaponized poverty in order to achieve the strategy.

He called on Labour Party members not to operate on such terrain, stressing how they have the largest structure in the land in terms of people.

2023: Peter Obi Made Labour Party Popular, He May Win Without Structure

A political analyst in Zamfara State, Umar Mohammed has submitted that the candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi may shock many people and win the 2023 presidential election.

He pointed out that though his party does not have a recognized structure or functional offices in many states of the federation, Obi has won the support and admiration of many Nigerians.

Mohammed added that the crisis rocking the two major parties in the country – the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) may just give the former Anambra State Governor the edge in the forthcoming elections.

Speaking during a chat with Daily Post, the analyst submitted that it is obvious Obi gave popularity to the Labour Party and has been making great waves ahead of the 2023 polls.

Senior pastor of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC), Genesis global parish, Israel Ogundipe, has thrown his weight behind the presidential candidacy of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Former governor of Lagos state, Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC while his running mate is a former governor of Borno state, Kashim Shettima.

Ogundipe is the latest public personality who has openly declared his support for the APC flag bearer.

Ogundipe, who was jailed for alleged multimillion-naira fraud in November 2020 and now released on bail, told his congregation that he would be a bastard to support a candidate from another tribe.

The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi on Tuesday visited the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde.

The former Governor of Anambra State who is the Pro-Chancellor of Dominican University led other team members of the University on a courtesy visit to Governor Makinde.

Obi is hoping to take over power from President Muhammadu Buhari at the end of his tenure in 2023.

Mr. Macaroni Warns Nigerians Against Certain Types Of Religious Leaders Ahead 2023 Elections

Ahead of the 2023 presidential election, Nigerian comedian cum actor, Debo Adebayo popularly called Mr Macaroni has advised Nigerians to avoid religious leaders encouraging them to vote along ethnic lines.

Naija News reports that Macaroni made this known in a post shared on the microblogging platform, Twitter while reacting to a viral clip of a pastor encouraging members of his congregation to vote a presidential candidate who is of their own ethnic group.

Macaroni had advised Nigerians to pay no heed to such religious leaders, asking them to vote wisely.

2023: APC Chieftain Slams Fayemi, Akeredolu, Others Over Visit To Wike

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Blessing Agbomhere, has berated some leaders of the ruling party over their visits to Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State.

Naija News reports that some APC leaders had in recent times visited the Rivers state to commission projects done by the Wike administration.

In a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja, Agbomhere condemned the APC leaders for their association with Wike, describing it as worrisome.

Agbomhere said the frequent visit of APC chieftains to Rivers is not good for the expected victory of the APC in the state and at the national level in the 2023 general elections.

He pointed out that the influx of APC chieftains into the state was robbing off negatively on members of the party in the State while boosting the morale of the opposition PDP.

The APC chieftain noted that Rivers State was critical for APC in winning the forthcoming presidential, governorship and legislative elections in the South-South geo-political zone.

2023: ‘Four PDP Governors Working For Tinubu’

The drama around the 2023 general elections is getting interesting on daily basis with different reports around the political season.

Political parties ahead of the campaign period are all out to attract top members of the opposition to support their agenda in the forthcoming election.

This has seen defections happen across the top political parties in the country as politicians seek greener pastures.

With the political game in mind, there are speculations that four governors belonging to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are working for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu.

Recall that the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike and his camp have expressed their grievances over the dominance of Northerners in the party leadership.

The development has seen the camp call for the resignation of the PDP national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu.

Meanwhile, a source that spoke with Daily Post claimed that four governors in the PDP are working for Tinubu’s candidacy.

According to the source, two of the governors are from the South-east, one from the South-west, and one from the South-south.

Both APC And PDP Have Been Rigging: – Keyamo Blasts Critics Over Tony Kabaka Social Media Post

The spokesman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo, has slammed critics who faulted him over the social media post of notorious cultist, Tony Kabaka.

Naija News recall that a few weeks ago, Keyamo took to his official Twitter page to share a video of Kabaka alongside the female ‘bishop’, present at Shettima’s unveiling campaigning for the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.

Keyamo captioned the video: When the jungle matures, we shall turn their mockery into songs of victory!!! We are getting ready!! Edo for ⁦@officialABAT

However, many Nigerians stormed his page, attacking him for promoting the controversial figure who had once admitted to helping politicians rig elections.

However, Keyamo during an interview with Naija News said those who think Kabaka has committed any offence should report him to the authorities and he would be arrested, tried and convicted.

The Minister of Labour and Employment claimed that cultism does not translate to being a murderer noting that he would not associate with anyone who has been convicted of a crime.

2023: We Will Deliver 12 Million Votes For Peter Obi – NLC

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has said that it will mobilize its members across all Local Government Areas in the country to deliver their votes for Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi in the 2023 elections.

NLC president, Ayuba Wabba gave the assurance saying that the worker’s union will deliver no fewer than twelve million votes for the LP to get rid of leaders he described as failures in the country.

Naija News reports that Wabba while speaking on Monday at the commencement of a two-day Labour Party national retreat, lamented the state of the nation under the incumbent government and previous leadership.

He said all that Nigeria needed now is effective leadership for effective performance.

His comment was coming after Human Rights Activist and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Femi Falana said NLC, the Trade Union Congress (TUC) and other affiliate groups which have the largest structure must mobilise Nigerians so that they can take over power.

Speaking further at the event, Wabba said NLC would organize 12 million members to activate their structures in all the 774 local governments for Obi to emerge victorious in the forthcoming polls.

PDP Crisis: Party Leaders Consider Ayu Meeting Wike

Leaders in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are considering the National Chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu should meet with the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.

The party leadership is taking the step as the 2023 general campaign season draws closer.

The camp of Governor Wike in its demand to support the party in the forthcoming election had requested for the party National Chairman, Ayu to resign from office.

The move was, however, truncated after members of the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) passed a vote of confidence on Ayu.

The development had hindered Wike’s camp from raising the move to remove Ayu from office.

Ayu in his move to remain in office and please the Rivers State Governor, pleaded with the Chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees, Adolphus Wabara to meet with Wike.

The party leadership set up delegates expected to meet with Governor Wike at his residence in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

A source that spoke with Leadership, said the party leaders are still deliberating on whether Ayu should lead the delegation or not.

2023 Presidency: Peter Obi Speaks On ‘Assassination Attempts’ In Abuja

A media aide to the Labour Party, (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, Valentine Obienyem has denied the reports making round that the former governor’s convoy was attacked in Abuja.

This comes after All Progressive Congress, (APC), Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo alleged that Peter Obi was planning to fake an assassination attempt on himself and hire some supporters dressed in APC caps and shirts to attack his party’s offices.

Speaking an the allegation levelled against the former governor, Obienyem in a statement on Tuesday urged the public to ignore the rumours, describing it as falsehood.

He further noted that Peter Obi holds dearly the belief that politics should always be devoid of violence, hence the former governor will never thread such a path.

He further assured supporters and well wishers that Obi is safe, hale and hearty.

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has accused the presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, of outright falsehood and planning to cause an ethnic crisis.

Recall that Obi had in a video accused a Tinubu Support Group of spreading a Whatsapp message calling on Yorubas not to vote for him in the 2023 presidential election.

Obi claimed that the Tinubu Group warned Yorubas that a vote for him would be a vote for a seaport in the South-South and South-East.

Reacting in a lengthy post via his Facebook page on Monday, Fani-Kayode accused the former Governor of Anambra State of planning to cause a second civil war with his lies.

The former minister described Peter Obi as a very dangerous, deceitful man who is attempting to spark off a tribal war between the Igbo and Yoruba.

Atiku’s Desperation For Power May Ruin Nigeria’s Unity — Afegbua

A former chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kassim Afegbua, on Monday warned that the ambition of the presidential candidate of the party, Atiku Abubakar may jeopardize the unity of Nigeria.

The former Commissioner for Information in Edo State in a statement released on Monday condemned the main opposition party for fielding a northerner for the 2023 presidential election.

Afegbua wondered why the party would field another northerner after President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure who is also from the same tribe as Atiku.

He said some politicians are desperate and feel Aso Villa, the seat of government is their entitlement.

The ex-PDP chieftain said the party ought to be Nigerian’s saviour in 2023, but the party has hurt the conscience of Nigerians by going against the power-sharing agreement.

Afegbua said the decision of the PDP may lead to a war of attrition between the North and the South.
