The Ohanaeze Ndigbo on Friday revealed the presidential candidate it will consider in the 2023 general elections.

The group stated this while reacting to the possibility that President Muhammadu Buhari might hand over to another northerner in 2023.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo, who noted that the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, might win, described him as a precarious and unpredictable individual.

According to the group, the former vice president never keeps to his agreement.

The Secretary-General of Ohanaeze, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, in a statement released on Friday, said the group would consider a Southerner for 2023.

Isiguzoro stated that the North would rule for uninterrupted 16 years against the South if a northerner wins in 2023.

He warned Southern Governors against endorsing Atiku, adding that he would not agree to a term in office as president.

Isiguzoro pointed to how the National Chairman of PDP, Iyorchia Ayu, who is a northerner held onto power despite the call to hand it over to a southerner.

The Ohanaeze Secretary-General claimed that the Chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees, Walid Jibrin resigned from his position to spite the south.

Isiguzoro added that Atiku’s presidency will be full of deception and falsehood.
