‘Why Should I Steal Public Money, When I’m Richer Than President Biden’ – Peter Obi

The Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi has opined that he cannot embezzle public funds because God has blessed him more than enough.

Naija News reports that the former Governor of Anambra State made this known in a recent event while speaking to some Nigerians in the diaspora.

In a video sighted online, Obi issued a curse on himself if he takes a public fund that does not belong to him.

According to him, he was at a public event where the American President, Joe Biden said he is worth $8.9 million.

However, someone like him from a third-world country is richer than Biden hence questioning why he should steal public funds.

2023 Elections: Atiku’s Wife Makes Huge Promise To Nigerians

Titi Abubakar, wife of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has promised that her husband will give 40 percent of his cabinet to women if elected into power in 2023.

She said that her husband was well prepared to rescue the nation and bring it back to working ways.

Abubakar made the commitment during the inauguration of the Atiku-Okowa Vanguard Nigeria on Saturday in Abuja.

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has described the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a party that lacks direction.

Speaking on Saturday at the unveiling of the Tinubu/Shettima door-to-door campaign group in Abuja, the Lagos State wondered why the PDP still exists.

2023: Why Peter Obi’s Popularity Is Growing Nationwide – Obahiagbon

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Patrick Obahiagbon, has revealed the reason the popularity of the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is growing nationwide.

The former member of the House of Representatives said Obi‘s popularity keeps souring nationwide due to the dissatisfaction of the entire political class.

He said Nigerians and particularly Nigerian youths are rallying around the former Governor of Anambra State to save the country.

Obahiagbon made this known during an appearance on a programme on Arise Television, The Morning Show, on Friday.

The former lawmaker, however, saluted Obi’s courage and sincerity to want to cleanse the Nigerian system.

PDP Leaders Making Efforts To End Crisis As Wike, Ortom, Others Meet In London

Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are making frantic efforts to end the internal crisis rocking the party, which has stalled its preparations for the 2023 presidential campaign and the inauguration of its campaign committee.

Naija News reports that the main opposition party plunged into crisis in the aftermath of the nomination of its presidential candidate and running mate, Atiku Abubakar, and Ifeanyi Okowa, respectively.

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, some of his allies (Governors Seyi Makinde, Samuel Ortom, Okozie Ikpeazu of Oyo, Benue, and Abia States respectively), and other PDP leaders have called for the resignation of the party’s national chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu.

According to Sunday Sun, the party has scheduled crucial meetings of its National Working Committee ( NWC), National Caucus, Board of Trustees ( BoT), and National Executive Committee (NEC).

Insiders disclosed that the meetings are part of efforts by the PDP to rally its leaders and stakeholders to send find a middle ground in the crisis rocking the opposition party.

Southern Kaduna Christian Leaders Disclose What They Plan To Do Before Supporting Any Candidate

The Southern Kaduna Christian Leaders Association (SKCLA) has announced that they would be screening various candidates before taking a stand.

The group announced its decision in a communique signed by the association’s Chairman, Apostle Emmanuel Nuhu Kure,

They cited equal opportunity for all candidates as the reason for making such a decision.

According to the communique, they would organise what is called “The Pastors’ Congress”, during which the governorship candidates of all the political parties in the State would speak on their blueprint for the people of Southern Kaduna.

The group also rejoiced with the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Mathew Hassan Kukah over the celebration of his 70th birthday.

LP Speaks On Peter Obi Soliciting For Funds From Nigerians In Diaspora

The Labour Party (LP) has reacted to allegations that its presidential candidate Peter Obi went abroad to solicit foreign funding for his campaigns.

The National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party, Abayomi Oluwafemi, dismissed the claims during an interview with Vanguard.

Oluwafemi described the claims the party was seeking foreign funding for its activities as part of a scheme by the opposing parties to paint its presidential candidate in a bad light.

He said: “It is ridiculous that our political opponents have descended to a new low to insinuate that our party is oblivious of electoral laws.

“Our candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, is hitting the ground running.

ADC Presidential Candidate, Kachikwu Blows Hot, Refuse To Acknowledge Suspension

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Dumebi Kachikwu, has spoken about his suspension by the party.

Recall that Naija News earlier reported that the National Working Committee (NWC), headed by the chairman of the party, Ralph Nwosu, had suspended Kachikwu from the party for alleged anti-party activities.

However, reacting to the suspension In a statement on Saturday in Abuja, Kachikwu said that he still remains the presidential candidate of the party.

Kachikwu asserted that Nwosu was responsible for the crack in the party.

Tinubu Camp Reacts As Aggrieved APC Presidential Aspirants Shun Strategic Meeting

The Tinubu Campaign Organisation has slammed some of the aggrieved presidential aspirants of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for shunning a strategic meeting in Abuja.
Naija News recalls that the defeated presidential aspirants were expected to meet last week Wednesday in Abuja to brainstorm and adopt winning strategies to support the party’s flagbearer, Bola Tinubu.

The meeting was also aimed at addressing a number of factors such as reconciling aggrieved members, challenges bedevilling the country and inclusive politics.

But the meeting was postponed a few hours before its commencement due to the non-commitment of aspirants who has indicated that they would be available.

In a statement on Saturday, the spokesman for Tinubu Campaign Organisation, Bayo Onanuga, advised the aggrieved presidential aspirants to emulate former co-aspirants, Tein Jack-Rich and Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State.

Onanuga noted that both politicians showed exemplary leadership by donating their campaign offices in favour of Tinubu to aid his campaign without being prompted.

A former Minister of Women Affairs, Inna Ciroma, has said the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is doing its best to resolve the lingering crisis in the party.

Naija News reports that the main opposition party had been battling with issues between its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State.

The rift between the duo began after Atiku won the PDP Presidential primaries and picked Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, as his running mate.

However, there have been steps to reconcile Atiku and Governor Wike which have not yielded any result.

Atiku Under Pressure To Break Wike’s Camp’s Ranks

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, is under pressure to break the rank of the camp of the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.

The camp of Governor Wike has the support of some PDP Governors who have placed demands before Atiku to gain their support in the 2023 general elections.

Sources close to Atiku that spoke with The Nation revealed that the former presidential candidate is planning to meet with members of Wike’s camp one on one.

The source expressed confidence that two governors in the camp of the Rivers State Governor are giving positive signs to Atiku.
