Five charges were levelled against one Saheed Adisa at the Ogba Magistrate Court over the weekend for allegedly assaulting a female official of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASEMA).

It was gathered that the LASEMA official, Salami Bukola was discharging her duty when Adisa for an unknown reason punched her in the face and fondle her breast.

The event Naija News learnt happened around the under bridge area in the Ikeja, Lagos.

The 37-year-old offender was arraigned before Magistrate F.M Onamusi of the Ogba Magistrate Court where the five counts bordering on assault, indecent body touch, and body injuries were nailed against him.

The charges read, “That you, Saheed Adisa, under the Ikeja Magisterial District, did assault one Salami Bukola, a LASTMA officer, by giving her fist blows on her face.

“That you, Saheed Adisa, under the aforementioned magisterial district, did indecently assault one Salami Bukola, a LASTMA officer, by touching her breast unlawfully in public.

“That you, Saheed Adisa, under the aforementioned magisterial district, did assault one Salami Bukola, a LASTMA officer, by giving her fist blows on her face which caused her injury in her nose.”

Adisa, however, reportedly pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

The prosecuting counsel, Odugbo Innocent, maintained that the defendant committed an offence punishable under Section 174 (e) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015, Naija News reports.

However, Magistrate Onamusi, granted the defendant bail of N200,000 with two reasonable sureties and further adjourned the matter until September 12, 2022.
