2023: Why Nigeria Has Continued To Move Backward - Peter Obi

Chief Executive Officer of Arise TV, Ijeoma Nwogwugwu, has condemned the presidential candidate of the Labour party, Peter Obi and other Nigerian politicians for having meetings outside the country.

Naija News earlier reported that photos from a meeting which had in attendance some governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with the former president, Olusegun Obasanjo and Peter Obi in London surfaced on social media.

Those in the meeting include the Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde and Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu.

Others present include former Cross River State Governor, Donald Duke and Senator Olaka Nwogu.

Reacting to the development via Instagram on Friday, Nwogwugwu called out Peter Obi, who, according to her, ‘tried to sell himself as distinct but no different from the others’.

She further blasted other politicians present at the meeting, whilst noting that it’s all about self interest and not what is best for Nigeria.

She wrote, “It is really disheartening that Nigerian politicians are jetting thousands of miles away to negotiate possible alliances. Couldn’t these meetings have all been held back home? More significantly, Peter Obi who has tried to sell himself as distinct from the rest, is no different.

“At the end of the day, it’s all about self-interest and not what is best for Nigeria. Sometimes, I often wonder why we kill ourselves and lose precious sleep over these politicians. They’re all the same…. Selfish, desperate, insincere, lying bunch.”
