Kogi PDP Chieftain, Adedoyin Dumps Party, Declares Support For Tinubu
Shola Adedoyin

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State, Shola Adedoyin has reportedly withdrawn his membership in the opposition party.

Reports obtained by Naija News on Wednesday morning (today), revealed that the prominent opposition party member has also declared his support for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The development means Adedoyin has now aligned himself with the nation’s ruling party ahead of the 2023 polls.

Naija News learnt that Adedoyin confirmed his defection to APC after a meeting during the week with the Secretary, APC Presidential Campaign Council, Hon. James Faleke in Abuja.

The former Special Assistant to the immediate past Governor of Kogi State was said to have also declared support for the APC senatorial candidate for Kogi West, Sunday Karimi.

“It is time to move forward. It can only get better from here. It is Tinubu or nothing in 2023. We are winning hands down, the big journey has just begun” Adedoyin reportedly said while affirming his support for the APC.

2023: Wike’s Man Dumps PDP, Joins APC

The Director General of Wike Solidarity Movement, Sudor Nwiyor, on Tuesday, dumped PDP for APC.

Naija News reports that Nwiyor, while stating the reason for dumping the ruling party, claimed that the people who worked for the party are been abandoned, while newcomers are enticed with money.

He further stated that the leaders in the local government areas of the state have no appointment, which they are not pleased with.

According to Nwiyor, he would collapse the structure of the solidarity movement for Governor Wike to the APC.

Nwiyor said: “My decision stems from the faulty regime in the PDP where those who have worked for the party are dumped and abandoned, while monies are given to newcomers to entice them to the party.

“The entire leaders in the 23 local government areas of the state have had no appointment, they have been asking what is in for them, I have not been able to proffer any answer.

“This informed my decision or move to the APC. I will collapse all the WSM structures to the APC.”

Nwiyor announced his defection from PDP on Tuesday in Port Harcourt, the state capital, Naija News understands.
