I will Not Tolerate It – Yahaya Bello Suspends Traditional Ruler Over Murder Of Policemen

The Governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello has suspended the Ohi of Eganyi, Musa Isah Achuja, following the murder of policemen and vigilantes in Ajaokuta LGA of the state.

The governor revealed that the decision to suspend the monarch was due to the security personality who were ambushed by gunmen on Saturday.

Naija News understands that criminals at Jidda-Bassa community in Ajaokuta LGA of Kogi, killed three police officers and five vigilantes.

Reacting to the demise via a statement issued by Onogwu Muhammed, his chief press secretary, the governor warned that his administration will punish any traditional ruler with links to terrorists.

Bello also issued a query to Mustapha Aka’aba, Ajaokuta LGA chairman, through a letter to the commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, demanding a reply within 24 hours.

The governor directed a halt to unofficial movements of local government council chairmen out of their territories without due process.

Bandits, Vigilantes Exchange Gun Fire In Plateau Community

Some members of different vigilante groups in Plateau State reportedly engaged bandits in gunfire over the weekend and neutralized sixteen of them in total.

It was gathered that the assailants stormed the Bangalala community of the Wase Local Government Area on Saturday evening in an attempt to cause mayhem.

The bandits, Naija News learnt, met stiff resistance from the local vigilantes who stood up to them in bullet exchange.

Some residents of Wase, who confirmed the incident to The PUNCH on Sunday, said 16 of those killed in the confrontation were bandits while two other victims were identified as members of a local vigilante group in the area.
