Lagos PDP: Aisha Yesufu Reacts As Funke Akindele Is Spotted Dancing With Jandor

Popularly socio-political activist, Aisha Yesufu has paid attention to comments on a viral video showing Nollywood actress turned politician, Funke Akindele dancing during a rally of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State.

Naija News reports that the Jenifa’s Diary actress had a few days ago accepted the offer to become the running mate to PDP’s governorship candidate in Lagos State, Olajide Adediran.

Adediran who is popularly known as Jandor had on Tuesday called on electorates in Lagos State to work with him and his running mate, adding that she will add more value to his candidacy.

He further stated that Akindele has a track record of service and advocacy. Naija News understands that Adediran stated this on Twitter on Tuesday while confirming the actress as the PDP deputy governorship candidacy.

Reactions have, however, trailed Akindele’s emergence as Jandor’s running mate.

Some of the initial comments were narrowed to the fact that the actress’s second marriage had just crashed. Others doubted her competency considering the angle she was coming from.

While different narratives about Akindele seem to be flying around, a video surfaced on the internet showing her and PDP’s governorship candidate in the state and other party stakeholders showing off their dancing skills at a rally.

Netizens have since countered the video clip with a barrage of reactions.

Reacting to the negative comments, Aisha Yesufu took to her Twitter page to question the understanding of the netizens.

She stated clearly that dancing at rallies is part of the campaign as the candidates would have to keep their heads low to connect with the electorates.

Yesufu tweeted: “So Funke Akindele danced at a rally and some people have issues with that? Na wa ooooh! Dancing is part of what is done at a rally. You have to connect with everyone at a rally. You talk about issues and also let your hair down.

“Except if there is something I don’t know.”
