Vice President Osinbajo Visits Kuje Prison
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday visited the Kuje Custodial Centre (Prison) following the terrorist attack on the facility on Tuesday night.
Naija News had reported that terrorists invaded the facility to release their members and other inmates.
Osinbajo arrived at the Kuje Custodial Centre in a chopper at about 3:35 pm on Wednesday.
The Vice President was received by the Inspector General of Police IGP Usman Baba Alkali, paramilitary service chiefs among other top government officials.
Osinbajo was on the ground to inspect the level of damage in the facility, which was destroyed by bombs and other arms.
There were reports that the terrorists invaded the facility to release their members who were held in the prison.
A further report had it that not less than sixty-four members of the Boko Haram group escaped the facility on Tuesday night.
Recall that President Buhari on Wednesday visited the facility before travelling out of Nigeria.
President Buhari expressed disappointment at how terrorists successfully launched a daring attack on the Kuje prison facility in Abuja.
The President who visited the attacked facility in the company of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha and his chief of staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari queried how the terrorists could organize and carry out such an attack.
