2023: Atiku Prefers Okowa To Wike As Running Mate – Sources

There are speculations that the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, prefers the Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate.

Sources that spoke with The Cable claimed that the former Vice President wishes to run with Okowa in the 2023 presidential election.

There has been much attention on Okowa and the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike as the Vice Presidential candidate of the main opposition party.

Naija News gathered that the national working committee of the PDP on Wednesday endorsed Wike as Atiku’s running mate.

The report of the stakeholders’ panel revealed that members of NEC voted 13-3 in favour of Wike for the VP ticket.

The source claimed Atiku is not okay with Wike as his running mate because he believes the Rivers State Governor does not like him.

It was gathered that some top stakeholders in the party are not comfortable with Wike as Atiku’s running mate “because the VP is just a heartbeat away from being the president”

Meanwhile, the NWC of the main opposition party has set up a committee to screen the vice-presidential candidate of the party for the 2023 elections today.

Political parties are expected to turn in the names of presidential candidates and their running mates latest Friday.
