Atiku vs Wike: Massive Crowd Welcome Tambuwal Back To Sokoto [Video]

Thousands of supporters on Friday welcomed Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal back to Sokoto State after last weekend’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Primary.

A mammoth crowd besieged the Sultan Abubakar Airport to receive Tambuwal and his entourage.

It was gathered that the Sokoto Governor’s convoy moved at a slow pace from the airport to the city due to the large crowd that stormed the streets.

The massive crowd sang and danced as they joined the governor’s convoy to the city.

Recall that Tambuwal had withdrawn his presidential ambition and backed that of Atiku Abubakar at the just concluded PDP presidential primary.

Former Vice President, Atiku defeated Governor Nyesom Wike, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, Governor Bala Mohammed, amongst others.

Naija News reports that Tambuwal’s decision to step down for the former Vice President was the masterstroke that helped Atiku get the ticket over Wike, who many had thought would easily coast to victory.
