Bandit terrorists have killed five villagers and kidnapped at least 20 passengers along the Sabon Gari-Kampani Road in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Naija News gathered that the terrorists killed the five villagers, who were returning after market hours, during a stop-and-search operation on the road.

It was also learned the gunmen also ambushed and killed a vigilante and one other person who was returning from Sabon Gari to Kampan village in the area.

Speaking with Daily Trust, a resident of Wase town, Abdullahi Usman, confirmed the killing of the five residents of the area and the abduction of 20 passengers by the bandits.

He said, “The vigilante and one other person were on a motorcycle from Sabon- Gari to Kampani when the bandits attacked them. They killed them and went away with the motorcycle.

“Later, when the villagers were returning after market hours, they were stopped and kidnapped. Three of them were killed.”

Meanwhile, two personnel of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have been reportedly killed in Benue State in an encounter with gunmen suspected to be terrorists.

Naija News learnt that two other locals were also killed in separate attacks in the state.

It was reported that the NSCDC personnel were attacked at their duty post at a waterside vicinity in the Wadata axis of Makurdi Local Government Area on Friday.

A resident who spoke with Daily Trust confirmed that the other two villagers were hacked to death in the evening hour of Thursday while working on their farms in Tse Tume in the Turan council ward of Logo LGA of the state.

A community leader had disclosed the names of the deceased as Terkende Injarwua and Mfaiga Ukor.

He told reporters that their remains had been recovered and buried on Friday.
