Socio-political activist, Comrade Deji Adeyanju has observed that many politicians have indicated an interest in contesting the 2023 presidency in Nigeria.

Comrade Adeyanju made the observation on Saturday pointing out that it’s looking like everyone wants to contest the 2023 presidency.

Naija News reports on Saturday, both the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, and popular pastor/politician, Tunde Bakare joined the 2023 presidential race, thus swelling the number of people that have officially declared interest in succeeding President Muhammadu Buhari.

Adeyanju however feels that a situation which has seen many people declare interest in the nation’s number one political seat, and many others still expected to do so might have belittled the seriousness of the task ahead.

Taking to his Twitter account, he wrote: “Almost everyone now wants to run for president in Nigeria. They have turned the whole thing into a huge joke.

No person without a solid political structure can win even House of Assembly seat in Nigeria. The time spent on insulting others who don’t agree with you online should be spent to built political structures in the 774 LGAs in the country.

Until I see real ongoing non-stop work at the grassroot, not taking any of such people serious. The people making noise on social media about 3rd force are generally not serious. They are just interested in popularity contest. If I wanted to, I will also contest for president.”
