One Terrorist Killed As Troops Repel Attack On Military Post In Kaduna

The Nigerian Army has on Monday confirmed that troops of 82 Division stormed a criminal hideout used by Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed affiliate, Eastern Security Network (ESN).

The incident reportedly occurred in Orsumoghu, Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, during clearance operations.

The Army stated this in a statement on Monday, through Onyema Nwachukwu, Brigadier General, Director Army Public Relations.

He said: “They were overwhelmed by troops’ superior firepower, forcing them to abandon their hideout. After over-running their camp, the gallant troops carried out further exploitation and recovered a cache of arms, comprising 22 Pump Action rifles, 19 Dane guns and 6 machetes.”

He said that the items recovered from the hideout include mobile phones, sim cards, monitor, a laptop, one operational Hilux vehicle and various voodoo items and charms

Nwachukwu revealed further that the site was the operational base of one Innocent Obieke (aka Double Lion), who is currently at large.

Obieke is said to be the head of the vigilante group in the area and secretly coordinates the criminal activities of IPOB/ESN.
