The Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has denied nursing presidential ambition ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Naija News reports that the former Lagos governor made this known during a chat with reporters about his plans for 2023.

In a tweet posted via his Twitter handle on Thursday, Tolu Ogunlesi, new media aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, quoted Fashola as saying that he is running for president of his home.

According to Ogunlesi, the minister added that his wife and children are waiting for him as their President in Lagos.

He wrote: “A journalist asks BRF about 2023

“A: I’m running for the President of my home. I’m going to Lagos. My wife and children are waiting for their President. All those who want to run, I wish them the very best of luck… For those looking for headlines, I have disappointed you. If you like go and write what I didn’t say.

Meanwhile, renowned journalist and publisher, Ovation Magazine International, Chief Dele Momodu has ascribed Nigeria’s current challenges to bad leadership.

Momodu who was appealing to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to allow him to take up the party’s 2023 presidential ticket, said he stands a good chance of becoming Nigeria’s next leader if supported by popular musicians like Davido, Wizkid, Burnaboy and Olamide.

Naija News understands that Momodu submitted on Thursday morning when he appeared on Channels TV Sunrise Daily.

Momodu, who was fielding questions on why many Nigerian youths don’t vote during general elections, said the present generation were brought up to believe that nothing good can come out of Nigeria.
