Turji Speaks On Having Connection With ISWAP/Boko Haram

Notorious bandit kingpin Bello Turji has disclosed that he has no connection with ISWAP and Boko Haram members.

Notorious bandit, Bello Turji made this submission in an interview with Trust Television published on Daily Trust on Saturday.

Turji said he does not need to have any links with ISWAP and Boko Haram because he has no political agenda or looking to establish his own territory.

He said: “We are not interested in establishing any religious organization. We are not aspiring to have a territory of our own, and we don’t have any political aspirations.

“We took up arms to protect the lives of our people that are being killed, it is not just because we are merciless or we are unconscious of Allah who created us.”

Speaking further, Turji said the Muhammadu Buhari-led government cannot curb the illegal firearms in circulation and access to communication in the country.

The bandit kingpin stated that the federal and Zamfara governments cannot curb the activities of bandits by placing restrictions on phone calls or other measures.

Turji was making reference to the restrictions placed in September last year in Zamfara to curb the activities of the bandits in the state.

He said, “It is not right to deny Fulani entry into Shinkafi; it’s a local government for all citizens. If you deny Fulani entry, where are they supposed to go?

“If you buy just a measure of maize, they confiscate it; or if you buy a loaf of bread they will say you are buying it for Turji. Is it only Turji who eats out of all the people here?

“Let me ask you; isn’t this a gun? Is it those who failed to prevent the circulation of arms in Nigeria that will prevent us from buying petrol, which even a little kid knows where it can be obtained?”
