Socialite Ogbolu Who Shared Fuel As Souvenir At Lagos Party Bags Jail Term

The viral photos and videos showing the moment petrol loaded in jerrycans were shared as souvenirs during a party has attracted the attention of the Lagos State government.

The state government in a reaction on Saturday through the Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso said the development will be investigated.

He pointed out that having jerrycans of petrol as souvenirs is a dangerous development which contradicts safety standards and is capable of causing harm to lives and property.

Mr. Omotoso added that the safety of the people of Lagos remains a top priority to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

“There is no doubt that this action is dangerous and can lead to loss of lives and property. It is blatantly against all safety measures in such places,” he said.

“The safety of lives and properties of Lagosians and visitors remain a top priority to the Governor @jidesanwoolu administration. We, therefore, advise that actions that can lead to loss of lives and properties be avoided,” the commissioner added.

Meanwhile, many persons have been confirmed dead and others injured during a fire outbreak at the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Abadam in Abadam Local Government Area of Borno State.

Naija News gathered that the fire outbreak razed some of the shelters in the camp while properties worth millions of naira were also destroyed.

It was learned that some of the victims of the fire incident have taken refuge at Diffa village in Niger Republic.

This development comes a month after a fire incident was reported at the Kalari Muna Elbadawy Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp, Maiduguri, Borno.

No fewer than seventeen people sustained varying degrees of injury in the inferno that claimed one life.

The incident was confirmed to newsmen in a statement released by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
