Tinubu: Bashir Ahmad Reacts To Planned Merger Between Atiku, Kwankwaso, Peter Obi

A presidential media aide, Bashir Ahmad on Friday evening, said he is satisfied and impressed with the way the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is playing politics.

Ahmad in a post on his micro-blogging page, Twitter said despite being the ruling party, the APC still has the momentum and energy to do more.

He added that the party takes grassroots politics seriously because it understands politics is beyond what happens on social media.

He wrote: “I like how our party, the APC is playing this politics, even as a governing party for years, we still maintain the earliest momentum, we are not playing with grassroots politics because we understand that “all politics is local” and it’s never been done on the social media pages.

“In my state Kano, and most of the northern states, APC is the only active political party, the rest are just there blindly answering the name “opposition parties”.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the National Caretaker Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, has inaugurated state chairmen of the party in Abuja.

Naija News reports that Buni, who was represented by the Secretary of the committee, John Akpanudoedehe, swore in the chairmen for 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Akpanudoedehe, however, failed to inaugurate state chairmen for Kano and Sokoto due to the internal crisis in the two states which had resulted in parallel congresses.

The APC chieftain didn’t state exact reasons for excluding the two states ahead of the party’s National Convention slated for February 26.
