President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the renewed terrorist killings in Kaduna State which left over 38 people dead.

Naija News reports that the latest attack by bandit terrorists was confirmed in a statement on Sunday by Samuel Aruwan, Kaduna commissioner for internal security and home affairs

Aruwan said the attacks were reported to the state government by the military and police authorities.

He said according to the report, bandits attacked Kauran Fawa, Marke and Riheya villages in Idasu, Giwa LGA, leaving a total of 38 residents dead.

“Houses, trucks, and cars were also burnt, along with agricultural produce at various farms,” the Commissioner said.

Bandits within the week have also killed citizens in Zangon Kataf, Chikun, Birnin Gwari, Igabi and Kauru LGAs of Kaduna State.

Reacting in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, Buhari stated that the gruesome nature of recent incidents has made him particularly sad.

Describing the killings as unacceptable, the president expressed the nation’s condolences to the Government of Kaduna State, the people of Zonkwa Chiefdom and the family of His Highness Nuhu Bature, the Agwam Bajju on his demise.

He prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased.

Buhari affirmed that Nigeria’s security forces have turned the heat on the terrorists who are getting frustrated and are soft-targeting innocent citizens, looting their assets, burning their homes and killing them indiscriminately.

He reiterated his directive to the security and intelligence chiefs to do everything they can to destroy the remaining vestiges of the terrorists.
