Why PDP Lost Bayelsa, Kogi Elections - Governor Dickson

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday, grilled former Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson for several hours.

The anti-graft agency is investigating allegations bordering on abuse of office and misappropriation of public funds during his eight-year rule of Bayelsa State between 2012 and 2020, Naija News understands.

The former Governor, who is the current senator representing Bayelsa West in the National Assembly arrived at the headquarters of the EFCC in Jabi, Abuja at about 11am.

As at the time of filing this report, he is still being grilled by the EFCC team.

It is understood that Dickson went to the EFCC office based on an invitation extended to him by the agency.

The EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed the invitation of the former governor.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, has condemned the Muhammadu Buhari-led government for not tackling the security challenges rocking Nigeria.

Ortom in his statement said security agencies in the country have demonstrated capacity with the arrest of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, and Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Igboho.

The Benue State Governor while speaking on Channels TV on Monday urged the president to go after bandits and Fulani bandits, raping and kidnapping people across the country with the same strength used to arrest separatists.

Ortom on Monday alleges that Fulani militiamen have consistently targeted his state because he banned open grazing.
