Antonio Conte Leaves Inter Milan Despite Serie A Title

Antonio Conte has left the newly-crowned Serie A champions Inter Milan after leading them to a first title in 11 years.

Naija News reports that his departure was confirmed by the Italian club on Wednesday.

“Inter Milan announces that it has reached an agreement for the consensual termination of the contract with coach Antonio Conte,” the Chinese-owned club said in a statement.

Conte, 51, had a year left on his three-year contract after joining the club in 2019.

The former Chelsea manager has reportedly been at loggerheads with Inter Milan hierarchy over investments in the club.

Inter who are struggling financially have refused to back Conte in the yet to open transfer window with the club asking players to take a pay cut.

With Conte out of job, clubs live Real Madrid, Napoli, Juventus and others may be keeping an eye on the Italian.
