Photos Of The Army Commander Killed By Boko Haram Few Days After His Birthday

The picture of the late Nigerian Army top commander, Major U I Urang, killed by Boko Haram terrorists in Gudumbali area of Borno State has been obtained by newsmen.

Urang was said to have been killed last week when he and some soldiers ran into a Boko Haram ambush in Gudumbali area of Borno State.

The soldiers were travelling in a 10-vehicle convoy when they ran into the insurgents who unleashed heavy gun fire on them.

Urang until his death, was the Commanding Officer, 123 Special Forces Battalion of the Nigerian Army.

He hailed from Obolo, a village in Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State and celebrated his birthday on March 8, few days before he was killed by the insurgents in the line of duty.

He and many other soldiers pade the supreme price in keping the country safe.

Meanwhile, Naija News earlier reported that Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru has given fresh assurances that the Boko Haram Terrorist group will soon be defeated in Nigeria.

The Army Chief made the promise on Sunday when he visited the troops of Sector 2 Operation Lafiya Dole of the Nigerian Army in Damaturu, Yobe State.

He assured the troops that they will get all the backing and support needed to push back the terrorists and end their oppressive reign.

Attahiru added that the President and Commander-In-Chief, Muhammadu Buhari is fully aware of all the troops are doing to keep the country safe and will continue to provide all the necessary support to boost the morale of the troops.

He urged them not to relent in their efforts and commitment to tackling all forms of insecurity in the country.
