2023: Ten Promises Made By Fayemi In His Presidential Declaration Speech

The Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, has cautioned criminals in the state to put an end to their vices or face the full wrath of the law.

The All Progressives Congress Governor further stated that the criminals will be caught if they don’t end their criminal act.

Fayemi who was represented by his Special Adviser on Security Matters, Brig. Gen. Ebenezar Ogundana warned against what happened during the EndSARS protests when police personnel, formations and facilities were attacked.

The Ekiti Governor who spoke at Ikere Ekiti during the inauguration of the Ilupeju Police Station built and handed over to the force by a retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Tunde Ogunsakin, commended the retired senior officer for his commendable service.

He said, “This man has taken a bold step to ensure that police return to Ikere Ekiti.”

Recall that hoodlums attack during the EndSARS protest last year saw three police stations in the town burnt, leaving police officers with no station to operate from.

Ogunsakin said he was worried that “Following the above incident, the state of security in the community deteriorated to a deplorable situation such that banks, industries and other corporate organisation moved out and ceased operations due to the absence of security and police presence.”

In another development, Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka has made his view on the actions of Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho as regards Fulani herdsmen known.

Soyinka in his submission noted that Igboho responded to a situation that pushed him to explosion point in the way he knew how adding that whatever excesses or errors noticed in his actions is for others to help or correct him.
