PDP Will Give Nigerians The Real Change In 2023 - Olujimi

Senator Biodun Olujimi (PDP-Ekiti South) has stated that her priority is to unite the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and not the 2022 governorship race.

This was contained in a statement titled, ‘Ekiti 2022: Olujimi urges supporters to prioritize party’s interest,’ signed by her Special Assistant (Media), Sanya Atofarati.

The lawmaker backed the agitation that the successor of Governor Kayode Fayemi should come from the southern part of Ekiti.

She however urged her supporters to focus on issues that would unite and strengthen the party ahead of the 2022 governorship and 2023 general elections.

The statement read in part, “It is, however, imperative to know that members of the Senator Olujimi team share the same ideology that for the sake of equity and fair play, the South Senatorial District should be given the privilege to represent the state in the next governorship race, having been marginalized since the creation of Ekiti State since 1996, 25years ago.

“We urge all groups and interests, particularly from the South Senatorial District to remain calm as the priority of Senator Olujimi currently is to unite the party and encourage others to remain united prior to, during, and until after the court judgment on the ward congresses.”

Naija News reports that Senator Olujimi and former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, have been at loggerheads over the leadership of the PDP in the state.

Fayose is also having a rift with Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State over the leadership of the party in the South-West.
