A notorious kidnap kingpin identified as Chinonso Anyanwu has been handed over after arrest to soldiers of the 144 Battalion of the Nigerian Army, Aba, Abia State.

The suspect was arrested on Wednesday by a local vigilante following credible intelligence and handed over to the military for interrogation.

Anyanwu, a 33-year-old man from Obungwu in Ukwa West Local Government of Abia State had three years ago, reportedly broke into a storehouse where soldiers kept their guns at Umugo at Ugwunagbo Local Government and made away with one AK 47.

The suspect, who climbed the fence to gain access to the compound, was said to have escaped after the incident.

He however returned to the area after three years and continued in more criminal activities but used okada riding business as a camouflage for his dirty acts.

Luck however ran out on him when he was arrested earlier in the week by a local vigilante.

Naija News understands according to a military source that the suspect has already confessed to the crime following interrogation by the soldiers.

Meanwhile, the Akwa Ibom Police Command has arraigned some officials of the Deeper Life High School in Uyo for their alleged role in the sexual molestation and forced starvation of Don Davis.

The police arraigned the suspects before a High Court in Uyo, following their investigation of the petition by the mother of the student, Deborah Okezie, against the school principal, Ndidi Solomon, and three others.

Naija News had reported that some officials of the school were detained after attending a meeting at the police headquarters, Uyo, summoned by the Commissioner of Police, Andrew Amiengheme.

In her petition, Okezie alleged that some senior students of the school assaulted and molested his son repeatedly after the principal moved him to their dormitory for urinating on his bed.
