Gabon Coup Patriotic, Let The Military Restore True Democracy - Shehu Sani Tells AU, UN

The former lawmaker representing Kaduna Central Senatorial district, Shehu Sani, has mocked President Muhammadu Buhari for claiming that only God can protect Nigeria’s borders.

Sani further stated that Nigerians in the forthcoming election should vote for God and not politicians.

Senator Sani wrote on his Twitter account, “First they said only God can end banditry and insurgency, and now they said only God can protect our borders. Fellow countrymen, next time, vote for God.”

Naija News had earlier reported that the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari declared that effective monitoring of the 1,400km border between Nigeria and Niger republic can only be done by God.

He made the submission on Tuesday during a meeting with Nigeria’s former Vice President Namadi Sambo at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.

According to Buhari, the border between both countries is very vast which also makes it porous, adding that this was part of the reason his administration had to shut down Nigeria’s land borders in August 2019 before they were reopened in December 2020.
