The Osun All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus in the National Assembly has announced the cancellation of a lecture that has pitched the ex-governor Rauf Aregbesola against his successor, Gboyega Oyetola.

Naija News reports that the public lecture was titled, ‘Ten Years of Uninterrupted Progressive Government in Osun.’

The cancellation was confirmed by Mutairu Olanrewaju, special adviser, political affairs to Senator Ajibola Basiru, the leader of APC caucus in the National Assembly.

This online news platform reports that Aregbesola, the Minister of Interior, and Oyetola have been at loggerheads for some time.

Indigenes of Osun State fear that the bad blood between the duo may lead to a clash in the state among their supports.

Aregbesola, who is currently in Lagos State, attended the Stakeholders Engagement on Internal Security and Conflict Resolution on Tuesday.

He later paid a visit to the National Leader of the APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alongside the Police Affairs Minister, Muhammad Dingyadi, and paramilitary chiefs.

Recall that in May early this year Aregbesola, a Tinubu’s protégé, rejigged the Mandate Group, the APC national leader main support platform in Lagos State.

He named Abdullahi Enilolobo as the new Chairman, and James Odunmbaku as Apex Leader.

Unhappy with the former Osun governor’s decision, Tinubu in June ordered the dissolution of all political organizations in Lagos APC.
