The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will resume the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) ahead of the 2023 general elections in the first quarter of 2021.
This was confirmed on Wednesday by the INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu during the budget defence of the commission before the Senate Committee on INEC.
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has expressed readiness to suspend the seven-month-long strike but cannot work on empty stomachs.
Naija News reports that the ASUU Ibadan Zonal Coordinator, Prof. Ade Adejumo, made this comment on Wednesday during a press conference to give an update on the strike action.

The Kaduna State Government led by Governor Nasir El-Rufai has approved the full relaxation of the 6 pm to 6 am curfew in all the 23 local government areas of the northern state.
Naija News reports that the relaxation of the curfew in Kaduna was disclosed in a statement issued by the state’s Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr. Samuel Aruwan, where he said that, the lifting of the curfew takes effect immediately.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has signed an executive order to rebuild the state following the destruction of public and private properties by hoodlums during End SARS protests.
Sanwo-Olu also constituted the Lagos State Rebuilding Trust Fund to oversee the rebuilding of every aspect of the state and attend to the future of the state.
The National Industrial Court on Wednesday directed the Yahaya Bello-led Kogi State Government to pay the former deputy governor, Simon Achuba, the sum of N180 million.
