American rapper and record producer, Kanye West has now joined his voice with other international personalities across the globe to protest against police brutality in Nigeria.
The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, on Sunday announced the dissolution of the police unit, however, the killings by the Police officers has not stopped.
Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) officers have been accused of harassing, robbing and killing youths unjustly for several years.
This evening, Mr West took to his verified Twitter account to call for an end of the extrajudicial killings: “I stand with my Nigerian brothers and sisters to end police brutality, the government must answer to the peoples cries #EndPoliceBrutalityinNigeria.”
