1. Boko Haram: Borno Governor Breaks Silence On Attack On His Convoy

Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has spoken on the recent attack on his convoy by members of the dreaded Boko Haram terrorist group.Recall that the attack, which was said to be an ambush, resulted in the killing of 30 security personnel including soldiers and policemen attached to the Governor’s convoy.

2. Boko Haram: Death Toll In Borno Governor’s Convoy Attack Rises To 30

30 people have now died after the convoy of Borno State Governors, Babagana Zulum, was attacked by Boko Haram terrorists. Security sources have revealed to Nigeria News that the number of fatalities from the attack Friday had doubled as more bodies were found and now included 12 policemen, five soldiers, four members of a government-backed militia, and nine civilians.

3. FG Warns Civil Servants Against Joining NLC, TUC Strike

The Federal Government has warned civil servants against joining the planned strike by labour unions fixed for Monday, September 28, 2020. The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC), and its affiliate unions had enjoined workers to embark on an indefinite strike, pending when the federal government reverses the price of petrol and electricity tariff.

4. Borno Attack: Nigeria Needs New Strategy Against Boko Haram – Atiku

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has called on security agencies to change their strategy in their fight against Boko Haram terrorists group. Atiku was reacting to the latest attack on Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State by Boko Haram in Baga.

5. Borno: Police Confirm Killing of Officers, Others By Boko Haram

The Borno State Police Command has confirmed the killing of its officers during an attack on Governor Babagana Zulum by suspected Boko Haram terrorists in Baga. Naija News reports that the attack, which was said to be an ambush, resulted in the killing of 15 security personnel including soldiers and policemen attached to the Governor’s convoy.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has revealed that he is not giving up on the actualization of a sovereign Biafra republic. The IPOB leader in a statement on Saturday, 26th September 2020, added that apart from Biafra, he is also looking forward to the actualization of an independent Oduduwa republic, Kwararafa republic (Middle Belt), and a return of the Kanem-Bornu empire.

Bilikisu Isah was allegedly tortured to death by police operatives attached to Bola Police Outpost in Maraba, Karu Local Government of Nasarawa State. In this interview, Zakaria Isah, the victim’s sister narrates how she died from complications she sustained from the torture, and other events which led to her death. It was learnt that the 20-year-old Bilikisu, an apprentice tailor, was arrested by the police on Monday, August 31, 2020, because her ex-boyfriend identified as Abdul, was alleged to have absconded after stealing N1.4 million in the car dealership center in Maitama, Abuja, where he was working for a Lebanese national.

Nigeria’s 2019 Vice Presidential candidate Peter Obi has said he has no hand in a poster with a picture of himself and former Kano governor Rabiu Kwankwaso running for the presidency. The poster which has been circulating on social media shows that Peter Obi is seeking the presidency of Nigeria while Kwankwaso is seeking the vice presidency in the 2023 election.
