NCDC Reports 409 New Cases Of COVID-19

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has reported four hundred and nine confirmed new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

According to the NCDC report on Wednesday night, the newly reported cases were recorded as follows, Lagos-201, FCT- 85, Delta- 22, Edo- 16, Nasarawa- 14, Borno- 14, Kaduna- 14, Bauchi-10, Rivers-9, Enugu- 5, Kano- 5, Ogun- 4, Ondo- 4, Bayelsa- 2, Kebbi- 2 and Plateau- 2 respectively.

The above figure brings the totaled number of cases of COVID-19 recorded in Nigeria to 13,873. Meanwhile, 4,351 persons have been discharged of the dreadful virus while 382 confirmed dead.

Countries With No Coronavirus Recorded Cases Revealed

The outbreak of Coronavirus in Europe and many other countries as seen economy crumple, while the level of poverty is on the rise.

However, about twelve countries across the world are yet to record any case of Coronavirus in their country.

Recall that COVID-19 was reported to have started spreading from the Chinese city of Wuhan, in December 2019 and became a global pandemic which has affected over 190 countries.

According to a report revealed by the Johns Hopkins University, more than 7.2 million people have tested positive to Coronavirus, while more than 411,000 people have lost their lives.

Meanwhile, 3.3 million patients have recovered from the virus worldwide.

COVID-19: NYSC Reveals Plans To Commence 2020 Batch ‘A’ Orientation Camp

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has said it is awaiting a go-ahead from the Presidential Task Force (PTF) to commence the 2020 Batch ‘A’ Stream One Orientation Course, which was suspended due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

This was made known by the Director-General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim when he paid a courtesy visit to his counterpart of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu, in Abuja.

Recall that NYSC suspended the 2020 Batch ‘A’ Stream One Orientation Course, a week to the time it was to begin as a measure to curb the spread of COVID-19.

According to Ibrahim, the NYSC is conscious of the possibility of her FG easing the lockdown. Therefore the Corps has mapped out strategies to take care of various scenarios and would be presenting this to the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 through the NCDC for guidance.
