Obaseki disqualified from APC governorship primary election

The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki on Wednesday submitted his nomination and expression of interest form at the National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress(APC).

The forms were received from Obaseki by the National Organising Secretary of the party, Barrister Emma Ibidiro in Abuja.

Earlier, Naija News had reported that Obaseki denied dropping out of the September 19, 2020 governorship race in Edo State.

He maintained that he would win his second tenure on the APC Platform while describing as untrue, claims that he plans to leave the APC if he doesn’t win the party’s ticket in the primaries scheduled to hold on June 22.

Obaseki is reported to be at loggerheads with the APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole who is said to be backing the aspirations of Osagie Ize-Iyamu to emerge as the APC candidate for the election.
